100 Percent Sheep Milk! Locally raised, from our flock of ewes on our farm in the Antigo/Phlox Area.

Our cheeses are rich, smooth and creamy. This is because our sheep milk and the original recipe we use make a unique and bold flavored cheese. These cheeses are great for snacking, Hors d’ oeuvres and gourmet pairing with wines (or beer!).

Winning four awards in three contests in the past year, Phlox Farms has found the perfect recipe for its farmstead artisan cheeses from their family owned sheep flock in Northern Wisconsin. Darlene Eckerman, a third-generation cheese entrepreneur, along with her husband Steve Eckerman, an expert in the dairy industry, have reestablished a once well-known business. Darlene’s grandfather started the family business in 1913 with a short course degree from Babcock, UW Madison with Phlox butter and cheeses. Her father continued the A.F. Schulz Creamery with award winning cheeses. It only made sense to come back with a 100-year-old Phlox label….Phlox Farms!
